Our History

Established in 1971, the Waconia High School Marching Band has celebrated 54 years - and counting - of excellence in the State of Minnesota, and throughout North America. Established by director James Thulien, the WMB has a history of amazing performances by generations of talented students. Go Big Black!

The 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Waconia Marching Band was held June 17th, 2023 at the Lake Waconia Band Festival.
